Senior Technical Consultant

Company: Apple Gold Partner / Managed Service Provider / Consultancy

Location: City of London (The position is currently fully remote, with future plans after COVID to be flexible. You will be working from home with the occasional office or client visit.)

The Role

This is a highly technical 2/3^rd line support/infrastructure position.

You will be involved with pre-sales system design and specification, advice and consultancy, systems installations, integration with other systems and end user training. The majority of the above duties will be related to the Windows systems or other OS's, and integration with Apple Mac OS/iOS will sometimes be key. Ensuring, for all customers where you have been involved, all documentation and instructions for use are kept up to date both at the customer's site and in-house records for support. Training end users and customers on hardware, software and systems use will also be key. Providing the company's customers with comprehensive on-site, remote and telephone support. Working collaboratively with the in-house support team.

Requirements

• In depth knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems
• In depth knowledge of Linux server operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS)
• In depth knowledge of macOS/iOS
• Strong understanding of network technologies including firewall and switch configuration (HP, Dell Sonicwall, Cisco, Juniper)
• Understanding of 'cloud' technologies (AWS)
• Understanding of Mac and Windows deployment methods
• Understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare vSphere virtualization technologies
• Understanding of SAN technologies
• Server hardware knowledge (HP, Dell, Supermicro)
• Experience of network and server solution design
• Must be able to take a project from the initial requirements stage (customer meetings) through solution design, installation and into support (including solution documentation)

Desirable

• Experience of StorNext SAN and/or xSAN
• Experience of deploying Dell EMC iSilon Storage
• In depth knowledge of MDM solutions
• Experience of large scale MacOS/iOS deployment
• Understanding of Mac OS Server
• Experience of managing cloud systems (AWS)
